What we collect, and what we do with it.
This site collects very little. This page sets out exactly what, why, and who else sees it.

Who we are
StackOne is a New Zealand technology consultancy. If you have a question about this policy or about information we hold, email contact@stackone.nz.
What we collect
There are two places on this site that ask you for anything. The contact form:
- Your name
- Your email address
- The message you write
And the subscribe box, which asks only for an email address.
There is no account to create, and nothing else on the site asks you for personal information.
Why we collect it
A contact form message is collected to read and reply to. We do not add it to any mailing list, and we do not sell or trade it.
A subscribed address is used to send you the occasional email, and for nothing else. You have to confirm it first: we send a link, and the address is not added to the list until you follow it. Sending that one email does mean the address passes through Resend, our mail provider, and appears in the delivery record they keep. Every email carries a link to remove yourself, which takes effect immediately.
Who else sees it
Two service providers are involved in the ordinary running of this site:
- Resend delivers the contact form as an email to us, and holds the list of subscribed addresses. Your details pass through and are stored on their systems, which are located outside New Zealand.
- Cloudflare hosts and serves this site. Like any web host, it processes technical connection information such as IP addresses in order to deliver pages and to protect against abuse. It also provides the check that runs when you write to us or subscribe, described below.
Beyond those two, your message goes only to us. We may need to share it further if the law requires it.
Cookies, analytics and tracking
This site sets no cookies of its own. There is no analytics package, no advertising or tracking pixel, and no third-party embeds beyond the bot check described below. Fonts are served from this site rather than from an external provider, so simply reading a page does not report your visit to anyone else.
Cloudflare, which hosts the site, may set a short-lived cookie when it needs to confirm that a visitor is a person rather than an automated one. It carries no identity and is not used to recognise anyone from one visit to the next.
The contact form and the subscribe box are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a submission comes from a person rather than a script. Its code is fetched only once you put the cursor in one of their fields — reading a page does not load it — and it is not used to track anyone. The emails we send carry no open tracking and no click tracking, so we do not know whether you opened one or which links you followed.
How long we keep it
Your message lives in our email as correspondence. We keep it while we are dealing with your enquiry and for as long as we have a working relationship with you, then no longer than we have a reason to. If you would like your enquiry deleted sooner, ask us and we will do it.
A subscribed address is kept until you remove yourself. Unsubscribing stops the emails at once, but it does not erase the address: it stays with Resend marked as unsubscribed, which is what keeps you off every later send. Ask us and we will delete it outright.
An address that is entered but never confirmed is never added to the list — the confirmation link carries it, and expires after seven days — though the confirmation email itself remains in Resend’s delivery record for as long as they keep it.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Email contact@stackone.nz and we will respond as soon as we reasonably can.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
